Michele Schricker, LCSW

Michele Schricker, MSW, LCSW has a B.A. in English Literature and Writing from St. Mary’s College, and a Masters in Social Work from Indiana University. Michele is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has been in practice as a psychotherapist since 2003. Michele’s orientation to therapy focuses on psychodynamic approaches to treatment, with a particular interest in depth psychology, including Jungian and Object Relations therapies. In her work with adults, she also applies Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered, and Narrative Therapy. Issues addressed in therapy may include: anxiety, depression, self-worth, interpersonal relationships, identity, life direction, grief, and loss. In addition to her clinical practice, Michele has a full-time position as a Lecturer in the Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work programs at Indiana University South Bend, teaching students in both the undergraduate and graduate schools. Attending to the developmental level of the person, and taking into account a spiritual dimension to life, Michele supports the individuation process of each person. From a depth psychological approach she fosters self-awareness, and an expanded world-view of human nature. Respecting the complexity of life, Michele places problems in a larger context, and works to understand the individual empathically. In addition to her professional life, Michele is a pianist and composer of meditative piano solos. Her other interests include a love of nature, health, and poetry.
