"Valeria Slapak Brown, LCSW, is a bilingual and bicultural clinical social worker in Spanish and English. She earned her Masters in Social Work from New York University Silver School of Social Work in 2013, and a BA in Psychology from Hunter College. Valeria specializes in working with young children and parents. She has worked in Oakland and Berkeley, California where she helped children and their families overcome the aftermath of trauma and to improve the parent-child relationship. She has extensive experience working with adults, young adults and teenagers facing a wide array of issues, such as trauma, anxiety, depression, life direction concerns, parenting challenges, relationships, women's issues, and LGBTQ+ issues.

Valeria uses a multicultural integrative approach that focuses on the therapist-client relationship, and includes in-depth exploration, trauma-informed, and cognitive behavioral interventions. She works collaboratively with her clients in a warm, authentic and direct style."
